Surgical Wound Closure with Adhesive after Circumcision

Abstract
"Since the initial study in 1960, there are many works for tissue bonding by the cyanoacrylate surgical adhesives. But some difficulties in using to clinical trial due to histotoxicity are remained. I have experienced the application of surgical adhesive for surgical wound closure after circumcision of redundant prepuce in 5 cases. In one case, the method for circumcision was applied with surgical scissors. But the other 4 cases, there was applied by Gomco circumcision clamps. The surgical adhesive was Aron-Alpha A, alkyl alpha-cyanoacrylate of Japan. The closure method with adhesive was indirect, dropping cyanoacrylate monomer upon covered with gauze surrounding the would area. There are some advantages in this method; non-suture, simple procedure, saving of procedure time, scanty or absent bleeding during and after the procedure and unnecessary the antibiotics to infection and dressing change over the wound except a case which was applied with surgical scissors."
